  • What should I wear when attending an appointment for my prescriptive yoga session or healing?

Be comfortable! Loose jogging bottoms or leggings are best suited for yoga or healing. You don’t want to feel restrained by tight clothing when moving the body or relaxing. Layered clothing is a good idea.

  • I have a bad cold, infection and/or virus. Can I still attend for my yoga or healing treatment?

If you have a very runny cold then please do not attend for a yoga or healing session and, instead rest at home. If you have an infection or virus, again please rest at home. Once the symptoms have cleared, then attend for yoga or a healing treatment, which will aid in your body’s recovery.

NOTE: Please do not wear perfumes or any form of smelling sprays. All jewellery will need to be removed during a practice.

  • Can I receive healing with other treatments I may receive?

Healing is a lovely compliment to other forms of therapies/treatment. Healing is non- invasive. If you have concerns then please check with your medical practitioner before proceeding with healing. In some cases, written confirmation may be required.

  • How will the session begin?

I will first discuss with you your health questionnaire and, have a general chat about your health and lifestyle so I can assess your needs but, to also connect with your energy.

  • Will you be laying your hands on me?

I am a hands on healer and therefore I will place my hands in positions on the body. Sometimes I may also hold my hands above the body. Please note:There is no massage involved. I will work with my spirit guides during the healing session.

  • What will I experience during my session?

People experience different sensations from a healing session. You may not experience any sensations. Please note This does not mean that the healing is not taking place. Trust!

Some people experience seeing different colours; some have a floating sensation. Sometimes you may feel that there are other hands also working on you as well as mine. There is no need to be alarmed by this, it is all part of your healing and, my guides will work for your highest good.

  • What can I expect from a restorative yoga practice?

I will firstly discuss with you your health questionnaire and have a general chat about your health and lifestyle so I can assess your needs and also connect with your energy.

I will do some grounding meditation with you to enable you to relax and connect with your breath and the body.

Restorative yoga may consist of four or five poses in which you will be fully relaxed letting go. You will be supported by bolsters, blankets and, cushions, so the body can feel totally supported to induce relaxation and letting go. Each pose can last between 10 to 15 minutes.

I have had it said to me, that 'I can do this in bed at night' - but this is not always the case and, it is very different from lying in bed. In restorative yoga, you are lightly conscious of the body letting go whereas, in your sleep, you very often tense your body, your bodily muscles, facial muscles and, jaw without actually realising. How many times do you wake up screwed up in a ball holding yourself tensely and your jaw clenched?

In restorative yoga, you will feel fully supported and secure to let go. You will suddenly become conscious of just how much you are holding tension in the body.

Your restorative practice will end in a pose called Savasana and again, you will be supported by blankets and cushioning where required.

Be open to receiving and trust in this healing being given to you.

Restorative yoga really gives your body healing space.

  • What can I expect from a Yin Yoga practice?

I will firstly discuss with you your health questionnaire and have a general chat about your health and lifestyle so I can assess your needs and, also connect with your energy.

I will do some grounding meditation with you to enable you to relax and connect with your breath and the body.

Yin is a quieter style of yoga. It enables you to connect with the body and listen to the body quietly tuning in. This style of yoga is about the intention of a pose. For instance, I may feel tension held in my lower back and so I would place myself in a simple pose, non-moving for at least three to five minutes and, inwardly listen to the letting go and, opening of the lower back and spine.

The practice will end in a relaxed Savasana.

An exercise which focuses on the connective tissues is Yin and is based upon gentle traction.

  • What can I expect from a Hatha Yoga practice?

I will firstly discuss with you your health questionnaire and have a general chat about your health and lifestyle so I can assess your needs and, also connect with your energy.

I will do some grounding meditation with you to enable you to relax and connect with your breath and the body.

As opposed to the Yin style of yoga, Hatha is classed more as a yang style, meaning 'more active'. We will go through a series of poses also known as Asanas, working both the upper and lower body to bring strength, vitality but, relaxed at the same time. We will use conscious breathing during this practice so you connect with the breath becoming mindful of the body and, poses with the breath. By breathing properly, you are bringing new life into the body, which will make you feel re-energised. This form of exercise is based upon rhythm and repetition.

  • What is prescriptive yoga?

Assessing your health, energy and needs. I may use a mix of the different styles of yoga. For example, I may start off with a more active style as in Hatha for the upper body and then come into a more Yin style yoga for the lower body, depending on your energy and needs.

My main objective is always to listen to the body and what it needs on that day. Sometimes, your energies can be so low that you need complete restorative poses and need to fully submerge yourself in space for letting go. Other times you may feel that you need that deep opening of the body in order to release stress and tension from the joints.

In my opinion, one size does not fit all! We are all different, with different needs on different days with different bodies.

  • What can you do for me?

By working with you, we can listen to your needs and requirements together to enable you to feel restored and, re-energised, whether through a style of yoga or through healing.

I will provide you with the space you need to stop still and to start your healing journey. All you have to do is be prepared to be open to receiving the gift of healing and, above all, trust that my guides will work for your highest good.

Be patient with yourself on your healing journey. There is no quick fix to restoring your mind and body! By giving yourself that time and space for healing, you may just be surprised what opens up in you by listening to your own body. You can connect with your inner voice. This can be life changing if you let it and want it. Be open minded!'
