Spiritual Healing could just be the answer you are looking for.
Post-traumatic stress too is a life changing illness. It can bring with it feelings of depression, helplessness, apathy, mental anxiety; as can being diagnosed with cancer, which can be a life changing event in your life. It's hard to come to terms with what is happening to your body. That feeling of not being in control is scary. Times like these you may want to retreat inwardly and shut the world out. This is only natural that you may feel scared. The mental and emotional effects of cancer can feel an enormous weight to carry. Nourishing the mind and body in these difficult times are important. These are the time when you need to care for yourself wholeheartedly but, also allow yourself time.
You always hear people say; 'time is a great healer' - and it is, but, you need to take the time to nourish your body and mind then listen to its needs through such difficult times.
Spiritual healing helps the soul to find itself, especially within a world where there is no time for illness and, where people are happy to have 'quick-fix' approaches to help with their problems. But these problems may lie with these approaches. Little do people realise that due to the speed of life and, their 'quick-fix' attitudes, these actually could be the cause of their problems.
Taking tablets to mask a problem? Well, maybe they should take the time to think about properly healing the cause instead. Many people treat mental illness like depression and anxiety, with tablets. Does this path help? Maybe, maybe not. It may help to forget and numb the mind, stop the crying perhaps, but this could be just masking the issues much worse too.
For me, spiritual healing is about nourishment of the body from the inside out.
Historically, in countries such as Japan, China and, India, there would be spiritual practitioners and village holistic doctors responsible for the well-being of their communities. They would focus on holistic elements to heal. Today, however, we live in a society where people are disconnected from spiritual beliefs.
In India, for example, everything feels connected spiritually. People have very little in the way of material possessions but, they have connection to their spiritual beliefs and, they seem content and happy. For those living in the Western world though, people work longer hours, everything seems to be done fast and without conscious thought for what this is doing to our minds and bodies. The trouble with this pattern could be the cause for us falling apart. But what do we do? We work frantically to patch up the problem with another quick-fix approach, or slap a plaster over the problem only to find that later down the line, the same old problem has arisen again and again. Why? Because no time is taken to heal the root cause of our problems the first time around.
So, do you feel the need to rest and restore your life?
